Overview

The objective of the position:

Perform paralegal work to assist IP counsels within IP department with formality duties and ensure the smooth communication with the Indian patent office

 

Main Tasks:

1. Filing patent applications at the IPO – 50%,

 

Preparing documentation for filing of national patent applications at the Indian Patent Office including helping with documents notarization and legalization according to request; Entering data into online application form for submission to Indian Patent Office; Communicating with IPO for deadline management; Entering data and documentation received from the IPO into eIPMS; Obtaining foreign filing licenses for cases that are handled at other BASF IP sites

 

2. Case management in eIPMS – 40%

 

Training on eIPMS to assume role as Case Manager: Filing of priority patent applications; Managing deadlines during patent prosecution; Supporting IP counsels for contract management; Communication to investors, law firms, and patent offices; data administration

 

3. General Administration – 10%

 

Performing standard office procedures including scheduling appointments and business trip; greeting and screening visitors, e-mails, telephone calls; checking, distributing, filing in/out memos, letters, faxes, etc. in order to facilitate staff in execution of duties and provide efficient information needed for the department’s operation.

 

 

Requirements:

Excellent proficiency in English; Good general understanding of handling office software and databases; Ability to communicate with stakeholders with international background; Basic understanding of patent law
